This is not a bad stoner movie, it's not as funny as some, Cheech &Chong in 'Up in Smoke' for instance (I'm too stoned to think of a newerfilm at the moment) but this is more about cannibalism and zombies thanstoner fun. We start off with Gretel (Molly C. Quinn) and her boyfriendAshton (Andrew James Allen) smoking this new kind of super-weed calledBlackforrest. They inevitably get the munchies, so while Gretel cooksgingerbread men Ashton goes off to score some Blackforrest from Granny(Lara Flynn Boyle). Ashton runs in to very bad trouble at Granny's soHansel (Michael Welch) and Gretel go searching and all the fun begins.
The acting is good throughout and the cast is pretty good too. I knewalmost all the faces which for a low budget flick ($4.5 million) isgood. Molly C Quinn is not a rookie but she's new to the big screen (Ithink she looks so like Deborah Ann Woll from True Blood) and surelyhas a bright future. Lara Flynn Boyle was excellent as the cannibalGranny and looked like she had fun playing an old evil woman who getsyounger as the film progresses. Watch out for the two cops, you'll knowthem as soon as you see them.
I enjoyed this stoner, gangster, slasher, Zombie version of Hansel &Gretel and I'd like to know who decides which thing is going to getshowcased each year. One minute it's romantic Vamps, then it's Zombiesfalling in love and now were being flooded with Hansel and bloodyGretel films, I mean, who decides these things?

I am impressed that I made it through the entire movie. The sad part is that I think want kept me watching was Lara Flynn Boyle's face. I can't figure out if she got some kind of illness or if she just went crazy with the plastic surgery, but either way, its sad and hard to stop staring. Back to the crapfest of a movie, about an old lady who lures teenagers to her house by selling them weed and then of course, she kills and eats them to regain her youth. This movie was a total snooze fest. I thought it was going to be funny, it wasn't. I also thought it might be a little scary, not even a little. Definitely pass on this on unless you're curious to see Lara's new face.

I was mildly drawn to this title by the cast, and then furtherencouraged by Aaron Christensen's review calling this a "spliff riff"and giving it modest comments. Frankly, with this sort of concept,anything better than complete rubbish is all we can ask for... and thisdefinitely ranks above anything in Full Moon's "Evil Bong" series.
Some things about the film are terrible. Well, okay, many things. Thelack of plot, the lack of humor, the weird subplot about the witchbeing a Nazi refugee that never seems to even get addressed... nor dowe find out why she is involved in the marijuana business in the firstplace...
It was great to see Cary Elwes in a cameo (even if he does not get acredit on IMDb for some reason). And it is nice to see Michael Welchbranching out (we had another horror, "Demented", released about thesame time). Unfortunately, this can only be seen as a step down forLara Flynn Boyle... are her days on red carpet over?
