Story: Haunted house film about a pair of sleep deprived parents who begin to experience disturbing visions after moving from the city to a country estate. Alex and Penny have just become parents of a baby boy when they decide that the city is no place to raise a child. Relocating to a farmhouse, the couple finds their relationship deteriorating due to the demands of caring for a newborn, including a lack of sleep. When Alex and Penny begin seeing a mysterious woman around the house, they at first dismiss the sightings as hallucinations brought on by sleep deprivation. But as the visions appear more often, the parents are forced to consider that evils are at work in their home. To be honest, I actually thought this movie would be one of thosecrappy ones. You know how the movie posters are these days. They don'tportray a single bit from the movie. Just total crap. But anyway, theposter for this movie didn't say much but still I was willing tosacrifice my time and my eyesight to watch it. Just because. Like Isaid, it's actually pretty decent. The plot is there. You can connectthe dots. The actor did a pretty good job. They are some scary bits butnot over the top. The scary bits are quite predictable to be honest.But still I watched it with a blanket covering half of my face. Thereare some funny bits as well with the babysitter. Halfway watching youmight be confused. There might be tons of questions in your head. Likefor example, whether the ghost is actually a ghost? What's her story?Who buys a house in the middle of nowhere? (Although every horror moviestarts with the purchase of a house in the middle of nowhere) Why can'tyou just move out if you're feeling depressed being in that house? Whyisn't anyone going to work? But towards the end, some of your questionswill be answered. All in all, this movie has the screams, blood, ghost,haunted house and craziness. Last time I checked, all of those are theessence of a horror movie. If you want to watch it, you won't beextremely disappointed. If you don't want to watch it, you're notmissing anything.

First of all, I have to say I didn't expect much from Dark Circles. Theposter looked OK, but you learn to be cautious with new horror filmsbecause under the cover often lies another boring and pretentious filmwith cheap scaring techniques and a predictable, derivative plot, andthat's exactly the case here.
Johnathon Schaech and Pell James were good enough in their roles, evensympathetic, and the film had some nice ideas and scenes, like the onewhen Johnathon's character is dreaming. Unfortunately, the rest of themovie was just plain bad. As I mentioned, you have a totally unoriginalstory which tries to be a lot of things at once, and it never succeedsat being even remotely interesting. Then you have the same old jumpscares which anyone can easily predict. The villain isn't scary at all,and looks like a woman with a bit of ugly make-up on (oh wait, that'swhat it actually is). Atmosphere was solid until the villain startedshowing up in brief glimpses, and that's when most of you will realizeyou will be wasting your time with this movie.
I'd say skip it, life is just too short.

Hi, I watched this film last night with friends. Altho' I now feel Ishould get better friends. The actual film it self makes time standstill, which only prolongs the agony of watching it.
The basic premise of the movie has been done so many times before, andmuch better as well. A couple move from the city to county to bring upa baby, and spooky things begin to happen. Mainly involving a woman,who looks like a Fat version of the scary girl in The Ring. But without the ability to be scary. Who pops up every now and then to try andremind viewer that it is meant to be a horror film. Add the back dropof a sleepless couple, who are struggling to cope with the lack ofsleep due to the baby and the noisy workmen building a house in thenext field!!.(they should of watched this film, they would've droppedoff with in minutes) And you start to think is it really happening oris it just hallucinations due to sleep depravity. Then you realise itis really happening, your watching the worst film ever!!!.
