An enjoyable, well-made indie, free from the pretension that usuallycomes with the... is "indie" a genre? It's the writing that reallymakes The Wanderers stand out. It takes skill to turn what by allrights should be a boilerplate, bog-standard plot and make it fresh andinteresting.

Amnesia is a cliché plot device, but clichés are clichés because theywork, and The Wanderers makes it work. I quickly found myselfforgetting that I've seen it used before, and even forgetting that thisis a labor- of-love indie film, and just enjoying the ride.

Also, I'm not sure whether the script or Ben Dreyfuss deserves thecredit, but I would eagerly watch a sequel about his character.
